Welcome to the website www.pppforsustainability.org!

Public Private Partnership (PPP) is a new business model founded on long-term cooperation between private corporations and public authorities. At present, many European communities are considering to what extent the PPP-model enables them to execute urgent essential renovations on public real estate. The expected economic advantages at present favour the PPP-model. However, critics of the PPP-model highlight concerns including the implications on regional providers and building craftsmen. On this website you will find information about the project "PPP for Sustainability". It was delivered between October 2005 and March 2007. The project analysed how Public Private Partnerships can be designed in a sustainable way, optimising ecological, economic and social aspects, with special focus on the renovation and operation of German school buildings. Furthermore this website provides a commented links page related to the topic.

www.pppforsustainability.org particularly addressed local governments as PPP contracting authorities, but is also of interest to PPP service providers, researchers, staff members of PPP task forces and others professionally involved with PPP.
